After 6 days of very hot weather in Pembrokeshire we decided to head for North Wales and our first stop was Shell Island as someone on the campsite in Treginnis had recommended it to us. They said it was a big white sandy beach that you could drive on to and stay, it sounded great.
We arrived quite late to find that Shell Island was in fact a campsite with a private beach! Not really what we expected but as it was late we decided to stay anyway.
We later discovered that it was in fact the largest campsite in Europe!! Not really ‘our thing’ at all! Although we did see a good sunset that night

In the morning we wandered round to the beach that everyone was talking about. It was vast, with sand dunes and very quiet.
Initially it was just me swimming then I noticed someone else further up. The weather had really changed and it was quite cold. The sea looked like it was going to be cold as well. I thought it would be a quick dip, off I went whilst Dee sat waiting as usual 🤣
It was surprisingly warm! Warmer than it had been in Pembrokeshire!

If you are a swimmer reading this then the swim and the beach is probably worth a night at the campsite 🤣
