The First few days in North Wales

After Shell Beach we initially decided to head to Anglesey.
We crossed over the famous Menai Straight which I believe is one of the most dangerous stretches of water in the world!
There has been reports of many shipwrecks in the past on this stretch of water.
The Menai Suspension Bridge was the World’s first major suspension bridge, built by Thomas Telford.

We drove round Anglesey and found what we believed would be a great overnight stop and it was on one of our apps, but unfortunately we did not get a good reception from the locals .
I believe there are some really lovely places to see on Anglesey but sadly we did not get to see them as we did not feel very welcome!

Back to the mainland and we headed to Betws-y-Coed in Snowdonia National Park where we headed for Swallow Falls .
The reason we wanted to go to Swallow Falls was because Dee has a photograph of his Mum and Dad there which we think was taken around 1980. We found it and here is the photo of us . And also the photo of Dee’s parents .

As you can see there is considerably more water in the photo with Dee’s parents . We are still trying to work out why?

Maybe there’d been a lot more rain when they were there?

Or maybe the time of year makes a difference?
Your thoughts are welcome.

After visiting Swallow Falls we went for a walk following the river . It was very scenic and there was even a money tree! This was actually a fallen tree where people had put money in the bark. Maybe they were making a wish. Here are some photos

  1. I remember going to Wales few years back with my mum.
We had booked a bed and breakfast around Mumbles and she made us feel very unwelcome so I said not staying here.
We went about 3 doors down different kettle of fish altogether
