With Brighton being the gay capital of Europe, Brighton Pride is a big event which is celebrated by everyone.

Pride weekend was immediately after the wedding we attended on Aug 4th so we decided to stay.

The last 2 years Pride like many things had been cancelled due to Covid so this one was definitely going to be a big one with lots of people celebrating.

The week leading up to Pride becomes busier and there is always a ‘buzz’ in the air! For years we lived in the midst of it and always had people coming to stay and parties into the early hours.

Over the last few years though it’s been quieter, at least for us!

Pride starts with The Parade that starts on the seafront and goes all the way thru town and finally ends up in Preston Park which is now a ticketed event and spread over 2 days! Historically it was only 1 day but that changed the year before Covid struck!

There are also other street parties that take place in other areas of the city with roads closed off .

It’s been quite a while since we’ve been to The Park. It’s changed so much over the years!

Here are some photos from The Parade

After The Parade Dee, Gloria and I went for lunch before heading to Almanac, which is a party in a pub garden where another friend DJ’s

An alternative to The Park and other parties. Here’s a photo of us in the pub garden.

After the pub we decided to take a slow walk back to where the van was parked, probably about 45 mins walk but we did make a few stops on route. Here is a photo of the seafront. Which should give you an idea of how busy it gets in Brighton over Pride weekend!

The following day we just relaxed and stayed in Hove where it was quieter as we felt we had done our Pride Day 🤣

On Monday night we left and headed to Alnwick which is on the coast and near Chichester. We were having our air con re gassed on Tues morning in Chichester so thought we may as well get a bit closer.
